Mt. Lindsey [14er] + Fall is Here

We hiked Mt. Lindsey on September 16, 2017. Fall has definitely made it’s appearance in the Colorado mountains – it was windy, colder, and the aspen leaves were changing to red and gold. The standard route up Mt. Lindsey gains 3,500 ft and is 8.25 miles round trip. Overall, a fun third class hike.

Labor Day Weekend 14ers – Crestone Needle + Peak and Humbolt

Over Labor Day weekend 2017 Dan and I hiked 14ers in Colorado’s Sangre de Cristo Range. We summited Crestone Needle and Crestone Peak on Saturday and Humbolt Peak on Sunday. We took a group vote and the Crestones rank in our top five 14ers so far. Both involved fun scrambles on beautiful + mostly solid conglomerate rock. Humbolt was a mountain that involved hiking up and then down. It’s highlight was the fact that you could see the beauty of the Crestones from a good angle. Just kidding I was happy to have a hike like this after the 10 hours of struggle that was Saturday.

Week in Training and 14ers #27-29

Week 19 in training – 45 miles of running and hiking at altitude. Highlights include 14ers (!) + the associated fun car camping. And birthday celebrations. Low lights include getting kicked/punched/scratched all night at work, and feeling some deep-seated fatigue that means taking more rest days than planned. Oh well!
