What’s not to like in the Medicine Bow’s Snowy Range? Heavy scented pine forests; fields of flowers in yellows, pinks, purples; and a dozen glittering alpine lakes whose only purpose seemed to be a glorious mirror for the craggy, rocky peaks above.
Week 19 in training – 45 miles of running and hiking at altitude. Highlights include 14ers (!) + the associated fun car camping. And birthday celebrations. Low lights include getting kicked/punched/scratched all night at work, and feeling some deep-seated fatigue that means taking more rest days than planned. Oh well!
Dan and I hiked Wetterhorn Peak on June 25, 2017 – my birthday (!) – 7 miles roundtrip, 3,300 ft of elevation gain, and lots of marmots.
