This weekend Dan and I went up to Steamboat Springs with another couple for a long weekend. We got three pack passes a while ago for $140 each. If you buy tickets at the counter they are $150 EACH DAY. Good God.

We drove up Thursday evening and hit zero traffic. This never happens. Or it does happen but I just forget in favor of the 4+ hour stand stills etched into my brain for eternity.

My friend made jambalaya for dinner and it was delicious. I will now make it multiple times until we get sick of it. And two glasses of wine pair well with jambalaya, just as an FYI.

We skied all day Friday and while the snow wasn’t great the weather sure was – I only needed a light jacket and no face mask hooray!

Friday night we went to our friend’s favorite restaurant in Steamboat Springs – E3 Chophouse. It was delicious and fun but pricey.

After we got back to the condo we played Durok, a fun card game that is built on the pillars of strategy, quick-thinking, and shaming the loser.

Saturday we skied again all day. We even got a bunch of tree time in on the south side of the mountain. Nothing makes me feel more like a super awesome skier like pizza slicing through trees!

I like views.

It turned out really well, and I would recommend it for a quick, easy dinner with friends. It was served with warmed up soft tortillas, chips if they wanted it nacho-style, guacamole, salsa, cheese, shredded lettuce, and sautéed peppers and onions.

Dan and I learned how to play cribbage Saturday evening and played on opposite teams. My team won dramatically.

Dan skiing. So warm we don’t need face masks!

Sunday we skied for a few hours in the morning, then drove back on home. I read Harry Potter the whole way to cope with the sadness that the trip was over.

The end.
